A San Francisco Bay Area native, Dr. Herrera graduated from San Francisco State University with degrees in Physiology (Biology) and Chemistry. Together with his wife and two sons, they enjoy movies, game time and outdoor activities. His personal hobbies include martial arts and building robots. Also a long-time fan of the Star Wars movies, Dr. Herrera built a life-size, functional R2-D2, complete with working gadgets and gizmos. When asked what motivated him to take on such an endeavor… "I rebuild teeth and smiles for a profession - building a robot was just a natural extension of that passion!"
Dr. Herrera is always tinkering with R2-D2. Check out his latest upgrades here!
